How it works
Three tones. That's the whole trick.
You give us a face. We give you a printable stencil that tells you exactly where to cut, shave and leave alone.
1. Snap or upload
Take a selfie or pick a photo. One face, looking at the camera, in decent light works best.
2. Frame the face
Fill the oval from chin to hairline. We take care of the background, so it doesn't matter what's behind you.
3. We carve it into three tones
Cut through for the brightest parts, shave the skin for the soft glow, and leave it for the shadows. We add tiny bridges wherever a piece would otherwise fall out, so every part stays put.
4. Tweak it, then print
Slide the brightness and shading until it looks right, pick your pumpkin's size, and download a stencil kit sized to fit. Print it at 100% and start carving.
What you get
A three-page PDF. (Giant pumpkins get the stencil split over a couple of extra sheets.) Here's the one we made from the photo on our homepage.
